This year the boat was called Great Owl out from Alvechurch Waterway Holidays booked through UK Boat Hire. Both companies operated to a very high standard, the boat being well equipped and ideal for our crew who probably these days could not get up into a top bunk. This year we started the holiday a month earlier due to diary committments.
The route was a ring including parts of the Birmingham Canal Navigations, of which 100 miles or so are open to navigation. No pack-up photo this year, however the crew were the same as in recent years, John Parmenter, Steve Platt, Adrian King (Captain), Dr.Mike Addlesee, Prof. Martin Cranage & David King.
A return visit to Gas Street Basin, we were last here in 1997. Martin's old stamping ground, he has taken some really great photographs, capturing the feel of the place.
